A Change of Scenery?

When I decided to start blogging I knew one of the hardest things would be keeping my house looking nice. You might be wondering how having that has anything to do with blogging, but the world of blogs and social media is very, very visual. I know that I’m personally turned off when I see the clutter from someone’s lunch prep sitting on the kitchen counters behind them or even a living room with unattractive decor. While those things may be more realistic, they’re just not inviting.

I'm actually a pretty organized person and I even studied interior design after high school, but you wouldn't know it to look at my house right now. To be fair though, I do have three teen/preteen boys, a dog, and an ever changing number of cats in this house (there are currently 16!). Even if homemaking was my full time job it would be a lot of work.

However, I've decided to reorganize and redecorate the entire house to reflect my personality and make it social media friendly. And I've decided to share all of my projects with you!

I have a somewhat unique aesthetic decorating style that I like to call boho glam. I used to call it boho chic, but that turned into an actual thing and it wasn't the same. I love using natural elements in my decor like wood and stone, but I also love glitter and shine. I admit, I fit the stereotype of women being distracted by anything that sparkles. I've managed to find some great ways to combine the two into something that not only makes me happy, but actually looks good! And I'm so excited to show it all off!

For now I'll be starting with my living room and bedroom. I'm on a budget (being a full time student and single mom doesn't really make for great financial fun) so it may be slow going, but I already have some big projects ready to go!

I'll add links to each room and project on this post as I complete them so keep checking back to see what's new.

I hope you have fun following along on my social media friendly house makeover!
